The first week of October has given us unusually warm temperatures, but a great desire for the fall can be felt everywhere, and as the days get shorter, the first cold weather will soon arrive. So what better occasion to take a look at the trends of the new season?
I’ve chosen for you some trends protagonists of the catwalks in the Fashion Weeks of last January and February, let’s see them together.
Combinations of gray and bold shoulders
Gray is confirmed as a winning choice, proposed by different stylists and in different variants. It gives a truly chic touch in tone-on-tone combinations, making the total look the right compromise between elegance and modernity.
To establish itself in the autumn winter 2023-2024 collections we find the bold shoulders. This trend recalls the “girlboss” look and the androgynous style, where the garments are usually structured. Not only on gray, but also with black-and-white combinations, to highlight the contrast between femininity and elements of the male wardrobe.
Tie is the essential accessory of this look. Valentino adds it to the white shirt: synonymous with originality, self-confidence and, why not, sensuality.
I suggest you this a post on Instagram where I talk about the androgynous look and some tips to recreate it.
Who said that only brown, orange and mustard are the colors of autumn?
Many have called it “red invasion”: red dominated the catwalks of all the main brands.
Virtually no one has given up on exhibiting combinations and total looks in red, in a way that is anything but monotonous: there are many different nuances, warm and cold, bright and softer. A riot of red from outerwear to skirts, from pullovers to accessories such as bags and hats, as well as tights, décolleté and boots. Possibly all together.
Take a look at these images and please tell me how can we don’t want to try this combination ourself?
Don’t worry: red looks good on everyone. It’s not just a matter of taste, we can choose between different shades, which can better enhance us than others.
Red has many shades and hue that adapt to each color season. In this post on Instagram I explain how to distinguish warm reds from cold ones.

Montgomery and faux fur
A really timeless, the duffle coat is one of my favorite alternatives from duvet jacket in winter. It returns as a trend in the autumn-winter 2023-24 season, confirming the right compromise between casual and elegance and making the look more sophisticated.
Very versatile, it adapts to many different styles : in long versions or in short models with a more modern cut.
But that’s not the only trend we’ll find this year: faux fur is back on the catwalks, which embraces the choice of many brands to use sustainable materials in their collections.
Missoni has proposed it in different colors and particular patterns, both in long and short versions. Ideal in the evening, to create very original looks.
Floral looks aren’t just a spring prerogative. Many brands have brought to the catwalk different fantasies that recall nature and floral patterns, declined with earthy colors, shades of brown, green and mustard.
In some cases, the proposals recall geometric motifs, such as the print proposed by Dior, in other cases flowers are recalled in a more bohemian note or in accessories, such as floral-themed bijoux.
Cuissardes and colored tights
Cuissardes boots, over the knee high, in different variations and colors certainly do not go unnoticed. The only rule for wearing them? Respect the proportions. Depending on the look we want to achieve, cuissards are perfect with miniskirts, shorts, short dresses, maxi-pulls or knitted dresses.
The combination with medium-length dresses and skirts for a concealed effect is not excluded. Or tone on tone if matched in color block.
But they are not the only interesting trend. As we have seen, next season invites us to play a lot on colors and tights will be the protagonists. Colorful and patterned, stylists offer them in many versions to show off even in the brightest tones such as red. Not only from light fabrics but also in wool, a mix and match of different styles. Therefore, an invitation to have fun and get out of our comfort zone to try new combinations.
These are some of the trends that most impressed me and that I wanted to tell you about.
And you, what do you think? Which is the trend that you like the most and which new look would you like to try?
